We're Freshwipes Ltd, a UK company nestled in the Sussex countryside near Eastbourne. Since launching in January 2020, we've been on a mission to give adults a genuine alternative to baby wipes when staying fresh matters.

It began with recognising a real need. People managing physical disabilities, recovering from operations, dealing with mobility issues, or facing temporary limitations deserved better than thin, dry baby wipes. Our biodegradable, antibacterial body wipes were created to fill that gap. And they've become the go-to choice for thousands who need reliable, effective personal hygiene when traditional bathing isn't an option.

Meet Liz, Founder of Freshwipes

In 2020, I was working in medical sales when I noticed a gap: people who couldn't shower easily had no proper solution. Baby wipes didn't work. Deodorant just masked the problem.

So I created Freshwipes – antibacterial wipes that remove odour-causing bacteria and leave you feeling fresh. Since then, we've helped thousands stay confident when life makes hygiene harder. I’m always particularly humbled when our customers call our products a lifesaver or a Godsend!

Freshwipes launched in 2020 (originally as SwetWipes, rebranded in May 2021) to give people a real solution when showering isn't possible.

What sets us apart is our antibacterial formula. We use Chlorhexidine to target the bacteria and proteins in sweat that create body odour – so you're genuinely clean, not just temporarily fresh.

Our wipes are 100% biodegradable and plastic-free, made from plant-based cellulose that breaks down in 90-120 days. Soft, thick, A4-sized, and moisture-rich, they outperform baby wipes in every way.

Who are Freshwipes for?

Anyone who needs to stay fresh when showering isn't possible. Our customers include people recovering from surgery, those with limited mobility or chronic illness, carers looking after loved ones, menopausal women managing hot flushes, HGV drivers on long hauls, campers and festival-goers, hikers, parents, commuters, cyclists, and anyone juggling long shifts or busy days.

If you've ever wished you could feel clean without the hassle of a full shower, Freshwipes are for you!

What are Freshwipes made from?

Plant-based cellulose fibres. Each wipe is roughly A4-sized, thick, biodegradable, and can be composted or binned.

Can I flush Freshwipes down the toilet?

The only things that should be flushed down the toilet are poo, pee, and (toilet) paper! Anything else should be responsibly disposed of in the bin, including Freshwipes.

What are the antibacterial ingredients, and are they safe?

Chlorhexidine Digluconate (found in Savlon and Corsodyl) and Benzalkonium Chloride. Both are low enough to avoid irritation, commonly used in hospitals and care settings, and strong enough to remove odour-causing bacteria.

Can I use Freshwipes all over?

Yes, on most external areas of your body. Avoid your face and eyes. If the product gets in your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical advice if irritation continues.

Why are Freshwipes more expensive than baby wipes?

Baby wipes are small, thin, tear easily, and don't tackle body odour. You'd need 10+ to clean your whole body.

Our 12-pack weighs nearly double a typical baby wipe pack (367g vs 100-200g) because each wipe is saturated with cleaning solution. Plus, free UK delivery is included.

Can I use your wipes if I'm allergic to Chlorhexidine?

Unfortunately not – our wipes and light floral shampoo caps contain Chlorhexidine (found in Savlon, Germolene, and some mouthwashes).

If you develop a red, itchy rash, wash the area with soap and water (soap deactivates Chlorhexidine) and stop using the product. Inform your doctor so they can update your medical notes.

Our rinse-free body cleansing foam and ocean fresh shampoo caps are Chlorhexidine-free!

Are Freshwipes suitable for children?

Yes, Freshwipes are suitable for children OVER the age of 3. For babies and toddlers, stick to products specifically designed for infant skin, such as baby wipes.

Are the Government banning wet wipes?

The short answer is no. The government is only banning plastic wet wipes, and Freshwipes do not contain plastic.

Do you offer samples?

Unfortunately not at this time. If you would like to try a packet, please go ahead and order and you are welcome to return them if you are not happy for a full refund. We have sold over 2M packs and have a return rate of less than 0.1%!

My item hasn't arrived what should I do?

Please allow 4-5 working days for standard delivery (although normally it is much quicker than that) If your item is still not with you, please check that a neighbour or family member has not taken them in for you. We send all items tracked, so please check your order confirmation for the tracking link (check your spam folder if you can't find it) - otherwise, please use the chat assistant function on our website which can help you locate your order.

I've come out in a rash, what should I do?

If you come out in a rash, have itchy skin, or experience any swelling after using our body wipes (or shampoo caps!), please wash the area with soap and water and discontinue use. Please seek medical advice from your GP as you may have an allergy. If medical advice is needed, please take the packet with you.
